Case study 02 · Consumer electronics · Pre-order launch · May to July 2026

$483K in three months, from a product with no sales history.

Spin360 launched a 360° ambient fan on pre-orders. No footage library, no past winners, no customer reviews to mine. The account ran 109 ad sets with a full team of editors, every purchase tracked and every editor ranked on a live leaderboard. These are my numbers.

the setup

Launch creative is a different problem from scaling creative

There's nothing to research inside the account, so the research goes outside: adjacent products, competitor launch ads with proven spend, and the objections a pre-order buyer has to get past. The first round was built as hook variant packs: one concept, five to ten openers, so the test round finds a winner instead of guessing.

June was a smaller share as the account added editors and rotated creative. I'd rather show the drop than hide it; a launch account's second month is where fatigue shows up, and the fix is the next round, not a better first round.

what the client said

"Mustafa turned our creative pipeline into something we could actually scale. He gives direction that converts, not just direction that looks good."

what this proves

Launch creative is a research problem, not a creative problem.

There was no in-account data to learn from, so the research went outside the account: competitor ads with proven spend, adjacent product launches, and the specific objections a pre-order buyer has before they trust an unreviewed product.

Hook variant packs meant the test round found a winner instead of guessing. One concept, five to ten openers, small budgets. The top ad came from round one.

If you're launching with no footage, no reviews, and no sales history, this is how you build a starting point from nothing.

hindsight

One thing I'd do differently: build the VSL in round one.

The VSL format came in round two after the UGC had already run. Given the pre-order context (high purchase intent, no reviews to validate the product), a long-form VSL should have been the first test, not the second. Pre-order buyers need more convincing than in-stock buyers. The format should match that.

your turn

If your Meta ads aren't performing, 30 minutes is enough to find out why.
